Teddy Bear Museum in Seoul, South Korea (BEAR WONDERLAND)

Image
Teddy Bears would always be a child`s best sleeping buddy and even sometimes, his best friend. I fell in love with Teddy Bears when I was in High School because of its texture, appearance and its company. Yes, I am a self-confessed late bloomer. My teddy bears were all baptized. I have given them names and I even talked to them before I go to sleep.  Although, most would say I am psychotic for that matter but talking sometimes to an inanimate object was actually a stress-relieving activity. Bear Cuddler was actually the craze when it comes to Teddy Bear store before. Together with Blue Magic, I would always dwell in the parameters of SM Manila and Robinsons Place Ermita to look at the different bears displayed in crystal clear windows that would be very expensive to the allowance given to a high school student. Staring for hours would still be enough for me to dream that someday my man of my dreams would give me loads and loads of fluffy stuff bears...

Service Learning at San Agustin Church

Image
Service Learning has been a wonderful and one-of-a-kind experience to me. Last September 21, 2013, my Sociology Class and I went to San Agustin Church in Intramuros to experience this. A month of preparation, indeed, paved way to the success of the event. Even Dra. Sevilla was very much happy to the result. In addition, we all appreciated the snacks prepared by Bro. Dante and the free museum tour he has offered to us. I was glad that I finally experienced being at San Agustin Church and the Museum. That was my first time to visit such heritage. I am really thankful. The Service Learning that happened last Saturday taught me the following things: The students were very appreciative of the giveaways and the food. However, I noticed that some of them didn't eat the snacks because they saved it for their siblings or their parents. They showed FAMILY-LOVE and FAMILY-CONCERN at a very young age which actually diminish their right ...

The Pianist

Photo taken from: https://lisaquinones.photoshelter.com/image/I0000DjPT8qmCBdw Listening to a piano piece and opera music has made me stop for a while and commit to contemplation. It’s one of the weird stuffs I always crave when I’m feeling indifferent or effete. It’s already 10:40pm on my smiley-faced clock and as much as I want to read Bo Sanchez’ book,   in my colorful diary (Yes, I still have one) and to hibernate like a polar bear in my igloo, I have managed to freeze the time and dwell my precarious state in savoring the music.  Every finger that touches the keys has  different magnitude. It stresses something that only the pianist can feel. I imagine him controlling each touch, each urge, and each force to bring a beautiful melody. Perhaps, he even had marshaled every ounce of strength that he has, just not to ruin the music. I, sometimes, have that same experience.  As much as I want to give everything I have… to show all ...

The Winner Stands Alone: One of my Fave Books

Image
Photo taken from https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5356711-the-winner-stands-alone Needless to say, Paulo Coelho has preposterously done it again for the nth time. However this book is very different compared to the other masterpieces that he has woven out of his pure genius. It took a 360 degree turn from what has been expected of him. He really did change the plot, the setting, the characters and the time line of his novel. In fact the novel could be categorized as an American book if the person reading the book is not aware of the author. On the other hand, the words, tag lines, themes and lessons presented are still Coelhan. He definitely still manages to squeeze vestiges of Coelho’s identity in.  My sister jokingly asked me one time why I did have a stabilo at hand whenever I am perusing and devouring “The Winner Stands Alone.” Well, the answer is simple. Whenever I hungrily turn the page, a good line is about to be revealed to me and since there are ...
