WHY THE WHITE DOVE HAS BROKEN WINGS

One day I saw a white dove flying, soaring to the sky

It dances against the wind of time just to reach Mt. Olympus… her palace!

Other gray doves wanted to accompany her but she always commented with deep conviction,

“No and I’m sorry for I can’t afford distractions at this time of the day.

I must always keep flapping my wings.”

Clouds turned from cirrus to cumulus.

Each flap of wings made her higher and higher

So other gray doves can’t reach her.

They say, “She’s unreachable.”

She heard them.  Clearly.  Like an echo that so deafening.

It shot an arrow across her heart. A bull’s-eye!

That’s the time a feather dropped from the sky.

From then on, I noticed a difference from the way the white dove flies.

From just looking straight ahead like a telescope, she glanced back and forth.

She’s looking everywhere. Searching. But she never stops from flapping her wings.

Still the same intensity. Still vigorous. Still hard but graceful.

But on the 6th day of the month of January, I was startled to see.

The white dove has someone beside her.

A magnificent black eagle. Towering the morning sky just like a royalty.

He is so perfect. Beautiful. A Breath-taking sight to behold!

Oh, I never thought it would be possible.

Two different species sharing the sky in complete harmony.

It is the most extravagant view I have ever witnessed.

They are both flapping their wings toward a better palace… the Andromeda.

Changes occurred to the white dove.

Instead of just being focused to flapping her wings…

She now enjoys every moment with the black eagle.

Blissful and joyous she came to be. I am happy!

Willing to try new things as long as the black eagle is there.

She visited new grooves, new plains, new mountains.

Going to the Moa Cliff at night is now her hobby.

I quite get fond of watching her. The way she laughs just made my heart melt.

And from that time on, I know! Indeed…

She’s in love!

While they’re perching on a treetop, I heard her singing with the black eagle.

Funny because the black eagle is a better singer than her.

She absolutely gets out of tune when she’s nervous.

I laughed when I heard her say “Will you dance with me, your highness?”

The black eagle did not move. As if he was stunned to death! For he can’t dance.

The white dove became sad but the black eagle exclaimed,

“Don’t worry in time I will dance with you!”

Weird as it may seem but the white dove has a “sweet tooth”

Knowing this, the black eagle produced a Cookie found in Mrs. Field’s crops.

And he laughs by the way she eats the cookie. As if she’s the happiest dove of all!

But the truth is…she’s happy because she is with him!

At one point, I saw them getting lost to their friend’s wedding. Out of track…

Oh how I envied them. The white dove just trusts the black eagle so much.

Not a single worry sculpted in her face.

It’s the most serene face I have ever seen.

I observed how the black eagle changed the white dove. How a metamorphosis got in the way!

I observed how they love each other.

I observed everything!

As if Romeo and Juliet have just been reincarnated.

It’s the highest form of love I have ever witnessed and…

It is a dream fulfilled. I can die!

But as all fairytales do say… they live happily ever after…

I can’t quite agree with that.

Because on Maundy Thursday…

I saw again the white dove.

But this time…

She’s alone with broken wings.

But still she’s flying!

She’s looking everywhere. Searching. But she never stops from flapping her broken wings.

Still the same intensity. Still vigorous. Still hard but graceful.

Still figuring things out why this is happening! She misses him!

That’s the time that a tear fell from the sky.

Maybe just maybe love is not enough…

But I can’t accept that! And so…

I cried…
