Our Take-Away/Take-Out
|
Ronald loves Indian cuisine. It is because he loves spicy food. No amount of spiciness can make him cry or perspire. This is the reason why whenever we order food I cannot share it with him because I cannot eat it. A craving for Ronald means finding Indian food which is indirectly proportional to me because if I say I'm craving there could be a zillion things I could be craving for and he would be devastated in figuring what I want. The predicament I have when he said he is craving is that I cannot cook aunthentic Indian food. Fortunately, a lot of my work colleagues are Indians and some of them recommend the eatery and take-away food chain, Paradise ☺☺☺ Of course, I have not yet tried it yet. Ronald and I are both discovering the wonderful city of Auckland so most of my blogs focus on discovering new things, new experience and new adventures in Auckland.
Paradise Indian Food is located at 591 Sandringham Road, Auckland. (Thank you Google Map for that. We used our GPS which I called GyPSy in going to different destinations or sometimes the App called Here We Go or sometimes Google Maps.) We parked at the side street which I forgot the name of since the parking spaces in front of the area are already occupied.

Dine In Restaurant |
Paradise has a dine-in, takeaway, buffet and catering services. We tried the take-away since we don't have time to eat there. I notice that the menu for take-away is cheaper compared to the dine-in menu. Ronald said that maybe it is because they encourage take-aways since the spaces are limited for dine-in and it would be hard to have an area where they both cater dine-in and take-away at the same time. He further pointed out that separating the two is actually a good business plan, a strategic one. Paradise is open from 11:30 am to 9:30 pm for dine-in, 11:30 am to 10:00 pm for take-away and the buffet is 6:30pm to 10:00pm. If you need to go there to dine in on a Saturday or a Sunday, please take note that it is close from 4:00pm to 5:00 pm.

Ronald tried this but of course in his standard... it is still not hot but when I tried it my nose swelled up |

They have combo packs available |
When we talk about awards, Paradise is included in Top 10 Metro Cheap Eats from the year 2015 to 2017. Most probably, it will also be included in this year, 2018. Food Safety of this place is grade A so you do not have to worry if the food is clean or if you might get some tummy bugs because you won't. In there website, you can see that there are lots of famous people that have eaten there including Rugby & Cricket Players and Actors and Actresses. Even Gordon Ramsay has eaten there!
What amazing with this restaurant is its commitment to give back. It has free food packs placed at the corner of its entrance where hungry people who cannot afford to pay can acquire. It is unbelievable. This is the first time I have seen that. Usually if a restaurant has extra food or food not sold for the day they throw it away, however, Paradise's owner/s do/does not believe in that. I salute the owner/s of this place!

This is really amazing :) |
The food is affordable and tasty. It has varieties of Indian food that you can choose from. It offers vegetarian dishes and it serves Halal Food. It is actually considered the "Best Halal Restaurant in Auckland." There are chicken, lamb and seafood choices. There are desserts that you can buy as well. Aside form that, Paradise provides information on how spicy the food is so you can choose correctly. Of course, I would be choosing mild and Ronald would be picking the hottest food there is.

I got curious with the green colour of this food. It is actually tasty but too hot for me. For Ronald, definitely, he said it is not hot. |

Happy worker equals delicious meal. Thank you sir for taking time to smile for the camera when I signaled I'm going to take your photo :) |

The area is really clean :) |
The staff there are friendly and they make it a point that our food order comes quickly. There was actually a problem with our order because we were not able to get it immediately because we did not hear them called Ronald's name but the male staff there was very observant to see us waiting for quite a while so he asked me what we are waiting for and I told him that we are waiting for our biryani and he sorted everything immediately.

The Happy Boy with his Take-away :) |
Ronald and I ordered the Biryani Family Pack which cost 38 NZD and 1/2 order of Harabhara Chicken and Chicken Chilly which cost 12 NZD. The lady in the cashier said we can have half and half of anything for the price of one which made us happy because we can try 2 meals and see what's better. You will notice that both viands are hot so I just sticked to the Biryani :)

He is really happy I found this place through recommendation of my colleagues :) |
We would definitely go back there even if we live far from this place. Ronald has found his new favourite restaurant in Auckland.
Disclaimer: I was not paid nor given anything to promote Paradise. I just love writing about stuff and our adventures. Moreover, I am neither a food expert nor a critique. My blog is based from Ronald's and my experience and our delight to eat and discover new things together.
