It's Beyond My Control

“But no matter what you do that seed will grow into a peach. You may wish for an apple or an orange but you will get a peach.” This adage came from the movie, “Kungfu Panda” and it hit me directly to the face. As a human being equipped with the capacity to think and act, we have created an illusion of control. We believe that the newly washed black t-shirt dried because we put it directly to the sun’s warm rays. We think that the rose bloomed because we planted it. We acknowledge that the fish we cooked tasted perfectly because we marinated it overnight. We are happy because the person we chose to love loves us back. We have deceived ourselves that anything that happened to us, everything that manifested in our daily lives and all the things that existed are the mere result of what we want and have been under our constant manipulation. We have become the master manipulator of life. Thus, we have believed that everything beyond our control are accidents. On the contrary, THERE ARE NO ACCIDENTS. Everything is it is because there is a reason. A reason that we cannot explain. These are arcane facts of life that cannot be questioned. Remember, there are things that cannot be fathomed and perceived by the human mind. Hard to accept it but unfortunately our minds have its limitations. We are already blindfolded from the very start. Why? So that we will learn how to trust. How to believe. However, sometimes the world gets too generous that in the course of life we may understand what is happening. These moments could only be counted with our fingers. And when we realized that it was unfolded in front of us, we should be thankful that the universe conspired for us to be enlightened. Then we come to think that the black t-shirt that we have washed will never be color white. The rose that we have planted will never be the pink tulip that we have obsessed about. The fish that we cooked will never be the pork that our mouth has desired. And the person that we loved will never love us the way we want them to love us.
