Cafe Casu

The Selfie Coffee :) :) :)

One perfectly night, Ronald blurted out, "I got my selfie taken and placed in the coffee." "What?" I said. I got curious so I forcefully extracted some details from him and asked him with my eyes like Puss n Boots to bring me there. And it worked. The following week I found myself in front of the cafe. The Cafe Casu is one of the new crazes in Auckland. I first learned about this cafe through Ronald. He and his co-workers always go here for their morning tea and lunch. It is located at 89 Ellice Roa, Wairau Valley, Auckland. There are parking spaces around (You just have to use the off street parking.)

The old cafe closed and transferred to a new location in the city. Cafe Casu just recently opened. Since Ronald's office is nearby, most of the employees go there for break. What is nice about the coffee shop is that it is open from 7am to 4pm from Monday to Friday. An early riser would appreciate it because breakfast will not be missed if you go to work early. The cafe is open also even during holiday and every Saturday but it is close on Sunday.

Opening-Closing Hours

The cafe has been featured in The New Zealand Herald and also in the website of Stuff. It is one-of-a-kind because the cafe can make a picture or photo from your camera embedded in your coffee. Most people will say that it promotes narcissistic behaviour but I think it is fun and that if you don't like it then do not pay NZD 1 for them to do that. I think it is rather fancy and cool. Although at first I do not want to drink my coffee because it will ruin the selfie at the top. Ha ha! Moreover, you can ask them to put some wordings or design from their template that you can choose from for free if you do not like your selfie on your coffee.

The cafe has nice designs in the walls :)

MENU

You can choose an All Day Breakfast, Lunch, Kids' Meal from their Menu. It has both hot and cold beverages and of course tea. You can have a good meal for 25-35 NZD.

Eating out and trying new restaurants our one of the things we really enjoy :)

Ms. Mira, the owner, was very nice and accommodating. She makes sure that we are comfortably seating. She even talked to us and made us feel welcomed in her cafe. I asked her for a photo and (lucky me!) she agreed.

Egg Benedict - Mushroom and Bacon
The food is sumptuous. I like the salmon Egg Benedict. Ronald had the Mushroom and Bacon Egg Benedict. We were able to finish everything. I love it.

After our meal, I went straight to work with my happy tummy :)

Disclaimer: Ronald and I did not have any discount in this cafe. We were not given any free stuff to write this blog. Again, I do this blog as a hobby and to preserve our adventures :)
